Emirates NBD Confirms No Transfer Fees for Key Countries Including India and UK

Emirates NBD has announced that its DirectRemit service will maintain free money transfers to several major countries, including India, Pakistan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom. This clarification comes as the bank outlines its fee structure changes, which will see a Dh26.25 charge applied only to international transfers outside these specified nations. The new fee policy is set to take effect on September 1, 2025. In addition to maintaining free transfers to these key corridors, Emirates NBD is also expanding its DirectRemit service to include over 30 additional countries. This expansion aims to enhance the bank’s remittance offerings, providing more options for customers looking to send money internationally. The move is part of Emirates NBD’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the competitive remittance market by offering cost-effective and efficient services. The bank’s decision to expand its DirectRemit service reflects a commitment to meeting the needs of expatriates and other customers who rely on international money transfers. By eliminating fees for these specific countries and broadening its service reach, Emirates NBD is positioning itself as a leader in providing accessible financial services across borders. This development is expected to benefit a large number of expatriates in the UAE who regularly send money back home, ensuring they can do so without incurring additional costs.
