Bengaluru Man Assaulted Over Obscene Texts, Attackers Mimic ‘Darshan Case’

A disturbing incident unfolded in Bengaluru where a young man named Kushal was kidnapped and brutally assaulted by a group of eight to ten individuals. The attack was allegedly motivated by Kushal’s act of sending obscene messages to his ex-girlfriend. This violent episode was captured on camera by one of the attackers, drawing parallels to the notorious ‘Darshan Case,’ where a man was murdered under similar circumstances.

The footage reveals the attackers mercilessly beating Kushal, stripping him, and inflicting injuries on his private parts. During the assault, one of the attackers ominously referenced the Renukaswamy murder case, threatening Kushal with a similar fate. The attackers were reportedly laughing while invoking this previous murder case, indicating a chilling sense of inspiration drawn from it.

According to officials, Kushal had been in a relationship with a college student for two years before they parted ways a few months ago. Following their breakup, the girl entered into a new relationship. Angered by this development, Kushal allegedly sent obscene messages to her. In retaliation, the girl, along with her new boyfriend and his friends, purportedly orchestrated the attack. They lured Kushal to a location under the guise of resolving the issue but instead kidnapped him in a car and took him to an isolated area near a lake where they carried out the assault.

The police have arrested eight individuals in connection with this case. The incident bears striking similarities to the Renukaswamy murder case, where Renukaswamy’s body was found with multiple injuries near a drain in Bengaluru’s Sumanahalli area. Investigations revealed that Renukaswamy had also sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda and was subsequently kidnapped, tortured, and killed. Initially, four people surrendered to the police citing a financial dispute as the motive. However, further investigation uncovered a conspiracy involving actor Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others. Actor Darshan was arrested on June 11 for his alleged involvement in Renukaswamy’s kidnapping and murder on June 8.
