A video has emerged online showing the son of a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader in a compromising situation, sparking controversy and embarrassment for the party. The footage captures Rahil Sheikh, son of MNS leader Javed Sheikh, in a drunken and partially undressed state, verbally abusing a woman who was speaking Marathi. This incident has drawn significant attention due to the ongoing language controversy in Maharashtra, where MNS supporters have been accused of targeting non-Marathi speakers.

The video was shared by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam, who criticized the behavior as hypocritical, given the MNS’s stance on protecting Marathi culture. Nirupam highlighted the irony of those claiming to uphold Marathi pride being involved in such misconduct. He questioned whether these actions reflect the true nature of MNS’s agenda and called for strict action against Rahil Sheikh.

This incident comes amid a series of reports involving MNS workers allegedly assaulting and threatening individuals who do not speak Marathi. These actions are seen as part of a radical campaign led by MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who is known for his aggressive rhetoric reminiscent of his uncle, Bal Thackeray. The campaign has heightened tensions in Maharashtra, with accusations of violence and intimidation against non-Marathi speakers.

Sanjay Nirupam condemned the behavior of MNS workers, describing their actions as mere hooliganism under the guise of language protection. He emphasized that the government supports the promotion of Marathi but does not condone such aggressive tactics. The incident has sparked a broader debate about language politics in Maharashtra and the role of political parties in fostering cultural harmony.
