A tragic car accident in Dallas, United States, claimed the lives of an Indian family of four, including two children, on Monday. The family, hailing from Hyderabad and identified as Tejaswini, Sri Venkat, and their two children, were on a vacation in the US. They had recently visited relatives in Atlanta and were en route back to Dallas when the fatal incident occurred.
The collision took place in Green County when a mini-truck, reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, collided head-on with their vehicle. The impact was devastating, causing the car to burst into flames and trapping all four occupants inside. The fire resulted in their tragic immolation.
Authorities have sent the remains of the victims, which were primarily bones due to the intensity of the fire, for forensic analysis. Police officials plan to use DNA samples to confirm the identities of the deceased before releasing the bodies to their grieving family.
This incident is reminiscent of a similar tragedy in September 2024, where four Indian nationals lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision near Dallas. In that case, a speeding truck rear-ended their SUV, causing it to catch fire. The victims were identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudevan.
Additionally, in August 2024, another accident involving an Indian-origin couple and their daughter occurred in Texas. Their vehicle caught fire after being hit by another car, leaving their teenage son as the sole survivor.
These incidents highlight the dangers faced by travelers on American roads and underscore the importance of road safety measures to prevent such tragedies.
