Alia Bhatt’s Former Assistant Arrested for Rs 76 Lakh Fraud

Alia Bhatt’s former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested by Juhu Police in Bengaluru on charges of defrauding the Bollywood actress of Rs 76.9 lakh. The arrest followed a complaint lodged by Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, who alleged that Shetty had forged signatures to carry out the fraudulent activities. Shetty was employed as Alia’s personal assistant from 2021 until 2024, during which time she allegedly committed the financial misconduct. The court has placed Shetty in police custody until July 10 as investigations continue.

The case came to light when Soni Razdan noticed discrepancies in financial transactions and subsequently reported the matter to the authorities. The police acted swiftly, tracing Shetty to Bengaluru, where she was apprehended. This incident has raised concerns about trust and security within celebrity circles, highlighting the vulnerabilities faced by public figures when dealing with close associates.

Forgery and financial fraud are serious offenses that can have significant legal consequences. In this case, the allegations against Shetty involve forging signatures to access funds without authorization. Such actions not only breach trust but also constitute criminal activity under Indian law. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of the fraud and determine if others were involved.

This incident serves as a cautionary tale for celebrities and high-profile individuals who often rely on personal assistants for managing their affairs. It underscores the importance of conducting thorough background checks and maintaining oversight over financial transactions to prevent similar occurrences. As the legal proceedings unfold, it remains to be seen what further revelations will emerge from this high-profile case.
