Upon entering the apartment, authorities found her body in an advanced state of decomposition, confirming suspicions of her long-past demise.

Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed conducted the post-mortem examination and confirmed the advanced decomposition, supporting the theory that she died several months prior. Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza revealed that the last call from her phone was made in October 2024, aligning with neighbors’ reports of last seeing her around September or October.

Electricity Disconnection and Lack of Notice

Officials noted that Humaira’s electricity was disconnected in October 2024 due to non-payment, with no backup power sources available in the apartment. An official suggested that she likely died between paying her last utility bills and when the electricity was cut off. The absence of candles indicated no alternative lighting was used.
