A burglary has been reported at the farmhouse of film actor Sangeeta Bijlani, located in Maval, Pune district. The incident was uncovered when Bijlani visited her property in Tikona village near Pawna Dam after a four-month absence. The visit revealed significant damage and theft, prompting a police investigation.
Upon arrival at the farmhouse, Ms. Bijlani found the main door broken and window grills damaged. Inside, a television set was missing, while another was found broken. The upper floor was ransacked, with all beds destroyed and several household items either missing or vandalized. Additionally, CCTVs were damaged, indicating a thorough intrusion by the perpetrators.
In her complaint to the Pune rural police, Ms. Bijlani explained that her absence from the farmhouse was due to her father’s health issues. This prolonged gap allowed the burglars to execute their plan without immediate detection.
Senior Inspector Dinesh Tayde from Lonavala police station confirmed that a team has been dispatched to assess the damage and theft. The police will register an official complaint once the assessment is complete. The investigation aims to identify those responsible for the break-in and recover the stolen items.
This incident highlights security concerns for properties in remote areas like Tikona village. It underscores the importance of regular property checks and enhanced security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
