A violent incident in Jaipur has escalated into a significant communal issue after a young man, Vipin alias Vicky, was fatally stabbed 14 times by Anas Khan. The attack occurred in the Jamdoli area and stemmed from an old rivalry between the two individuals. The situation intensified when Khan posted a video on social media, brandishing the knife used in the attack and claiming responsibility as an act of revenge. Although the post was quickly deleted, it had already sparked widespread outrage.
Following the incident, a large crowd took to the streets in protest. Demonstrators clashed with police forces, throwing stones and attempting to block the Jaipur-Agra highway. The unrest highlights the deep-seated tensions between the communities involved and has drawn significant attention from local authorities.
Vipin, who worked at a local shop, reportedly had a longstanding enmity with Khan. Although it was believed that their differences had been resolved last month, tensions evidently remained. On the night of the attack, Khan allegedly lured Vipin to an isolated location with the help of several accomplices. After committing the crime, Khan fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Superintendent of Police Kunwar Rashtradeep confirmed that CCTV footage captured Khan fleeing on a bike after the attack. A murder case has been filed against nine individuals, with four suspects currently detained for questioning. Authorities have formed a special team dedicated to apprehending Khan.
Protesters have refused to accept Vipin’s body for last rites until their demands are met. They are calling for the immediate arrest of Anas Khan and seeking compensation and a government job for Vipin’s family as part of their demands for justice.
