Amid the success of Mohit Suri’s directorial venture, Saiyaara, featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, Ajay Devgn has shared his insights on the challenges faced by newcomers in the film industry. During a promotional event for his upcoming comedy, Son of Sardaar 2, alongside co-star Mrunal Thakur on Archana Puran Singh’s YouTube channel, Ajay discussed his views on why many outsiders might be misguided about the industry.
Ajay Devgn, a seasoned actor with a rich legacy in Bollywood, reflected on his early lessons in cinema. He credited his father, Veeru Devgan, a renowned stunt choreographer, for instilling in him the technical knowledge and work ethic essential for success. “Whatever I’ve learnt technically and about the industry is all because of him,” Ajay remarked, emphasizing the importance of dedication and honesty towards work.
During the conversation, Archana Puran Singh highlighted the prevalence of film families in Bollywood. She noted that individuals from such backgrounds often have an advantage due to their early exposure to professional ethics. Ajay concurred, stating that being part of a film family provides valuable learning opportunities.
Ajay expressed concern about newcomers without a film background. He pointed out that many are unsure whether they aspire to be actors or stars. “You cannot be a star on day one; first, you need to be an actor,” he asserted. Ajay believes that hard work is crucial for success and that there is often a misunderstanding among outsiders about the industry’s realities.
Son of Sardaar 2, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and produced by Ajay Devgn along with Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, is set to release in theatres on August 1. The film serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar.
