Ralph Norman Enters South Carolina Governor Race

Ralph Norman, a prominent member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, has officially announced his candidacy for the governor of South Carolina. The Republican representative, who has served in Congress since 2017, launched his campaign with a rally in Rock Hill. Norman’s campaign is centered on a promise to “shake things up” in the state capital, Columbia, and dismantle what he describes as a “corrupt political establishment.”

Norman’s platform includes the creation of a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) commission aimed at eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse within the state government. A longtime ally of former Governor Nikki Haley, Norman was her sole endorser before she exited the race. Despite this, he maintained a strong relationship with Trump.
