Arkansas Couple Fatally Attacked at Devil’s Den State Park; Suspect Sought

Tragic Incident at Devil’s Den State Park

A devastating incident unfolded at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas, where a couple was tragically killed while hiking with their young daughters. The Arkansas State Police (ASP) were alerted to the double homicide on Saturday afternoon, around 2:40 p.m. The victims, identified as Clinton Brink, 43, and Cristen Brink, 41, were discovered deceased on a trail within the park. Their daughters, aged 9 and 7, were unharmed and are now safely with family members.

Details of the Suspect and Ongoing Manhunt

The ASP has launched an urgent manhunt for the suspect involved in this heinous crime. The suspect is described as a White male with a medium build, wearing a long-sleeved shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark pants, a dark ballcap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves. He was reportedly carrying a black backpack. Witnesses observed him driving a black four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with tape obscuring the license plate. The vehicle was last seen heading towards a park exit and may have traveled on State Route 170 or 220.

Community and Law Enforcement Response

The park is known for its remote and rugged terrain, which presents challenges for communication due to the lack of cellphone service. Shea Lewis, Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and emphasized the priority of visitor safety. In response to the incident, there has been an increased law enforcement presence across state parks in Arkansas.

Call for Public Assistance

Investigators are urging anyone who visited Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday to review any photos or videos taken for potential images of the suspect. This appeal is part of a broader effort to gather information that could lead to the suspect’s capture. The ASP continues to work closely with various law enforcement agencies as the investigation progresses.
