Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill in a thrilling match at SummerSlam. The event, held on Saturday night, showcased the future of the WWE women’s division with both competitors making their first appearance at this iconic event. Stratton entered the match with an impressive reign of over 200 days, while Cargill was fresh off her victory as the Queen of the Ring tournament winner.
The match began with Stratton employing her signature aerial assaults to try and overcome Cargill’s powerhouse style. She executed a suicide dive to the outside and a Swanton from the top rope, showcasing her gymnastic prowess. However, Cargill’s strength soon came into play as she caught Stratton mid-maneuver, shifting the momentum in her favor.
Cargill capitalized on her advantage with a series of powerful moves, including a back drop and her signature Eye of the Storm. It seemed as though she was poised to seize control of the match. Yet, Stratton’s resilience shone through as she countered Cargill’s offense, regaining her footing in the contest.
The intensity of the match escalated as both competitors exchanged forearms and slaps, demonstrating their evenly matched skills. Cargill managed to counter Stratton’s Prettiest Moonsault Ever and delivered her finisher, Jaded. However, Stratton narrowly avoided defeat by getting her foot on the ropes during the pin attempt.
