In a recent road rage incident in Bengaluru, two men engaged in a public altercation following a minor vehicle collision. The confrontation took place on the night of August 2 in Ramamurthy Nagar, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety and driver behavior in the city.
According to police reports, the incident began when one car allegedly brushed against another. The situation escalated rapidly when the driver of the second vehicle, reportedly intoxicated, exited his car and began verbally assaulting the other driver. The complainant, Rishva Mehta, reported that the verbal exchange quickly turned physical, leading to a scuffle between the two men.
Following the altercation, an FIR was filed at Ramamurthy Nagar Police Station. Additionally, traffic police have initiated a separate case against the accused for driving under the influence of alcohol. These legal actions underscore the seriousness with which authorities are treating incidents of road rage and impaired driving.
This incident is not isolated; similar occurrences have been reported in Bengaluru. In July, a Swiggy delivery executive was attacked by three unidentified men at a traffic signal near Modi Hospital Junction. The altercation began when the delivery rider stopped at a red light and was pressured by the vehicle behind him to move forward. When he refused, citing traffic rules, an argument ensued that quickly turned violent.
These incidents highlight significant concerns regarding road safety and driver conduct in Bengaluru. They emphasize the need for increased awareness and enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such confrontations from escalating into violence.
