A standout feature of ChatGPT-5 is its ability to create software programs on demand, known as “vibe coding.” This capability was demonstrated by OpenAI executives through an example where the bot was tasked with creating a French language learning app. This innovation positions ChatGPT-5 at the forefront of AI development, outpacing competitors like Google and Microsoft, who are heavily investing in similar technologies.

In addition to launching ChatGPT-5, OpenAI announced a partnership with the US government, offering federal workers access to ChatGPT Enterprise for a nominal fee. The company also released two new open-weight language models, gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b, which can be freely downloaded and modified by users.
