Akash Deep Faces Legal Trouble Over Dream Car Purchase in India

Akash Deep’s Dream Car Purchase Turns Sour

Indian pacer Akash Deep recently found himself embroiled in a legal issue following the purchase of his dream car, a Toyota Fortuner. The 28-year-old cricketer, who had just returned from a Test series against England, proudly shared his new acquisition on social media. However, the joy was short-lived as he received a notice from the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department for not having a High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) on his vehicle.

Understanding High Security Registration Plates (HSRP)

HSRPs are specialized number plates introduced by the Government of India to enhance vehicle security. These plates feature laser codes, non-removable screws, and holograms, making them resistant to theft and forgery. The absence of an HSRP on Akash Deep’s car led to the issuance of a notice.

Dealer’s Oversight and Consequences

The vehicle was purchased from M/s Sunny Motors in Lucknow, which failed to complete the mandatory registration process and fit an HSRP on the car. As a result, the dealership has been suspended for one month and given 14 days to explain their oversight.

Impact on Akash Deep

This incident comes shortly after Akash Deep’s impressive performance in the Test series against England, where he took 13 wickets across three matches. Despite this setback, his achievements on the field remain noteworthy, particularly his standout performance at Edgbaston.

Social Media Celebration

Before the notice, Akash Deep had shared his excitement about the car purchase on Instagram, posting pictures with his family and expressing gratitude for achieving this milestone.
