Tragic Incident in Bihar: Nursing Student Killed

A 25-year-old nursing student, Rahul Kumar, was tragically shot dead at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital in Bihar. The incident occurred in front of his wife, Tannu Priya, a first-year nursing student. The alleged shooter is Tannu’s father, Premshankar Jha, who reportedly opposed their intercaste marriage. Rahul and Tannu had married four months prior and lived in the same hostel building on different floors.

Family Opposition to Intercaste Marriage

The couple’s marriage had faced resistance from Tannu’s family due to their differing castes. Tannu revealed that her family, including her father and brothers, had been against the union. She had even approached the court for protection, fearing harm from her family.
