Bomb Threats Disrupt Over 60 Schools in Delhi and Bengaluru

Widespread Panic as Schools Receive Bomb Threats

Over 60 schools in Delhi and Bengaluru were thrown into chaos after receiving bomb threats via email. The alarming messages, sent early this morning, prompted immediate action from school authorities and law enforcement. In Delhi, 20 schools were targeted, while Bengaluru saw 40 institutions receiving similar threats. Emergency services, including the police, bomb disposal units, and fire departments, were swiftly deployed to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Upon receiving the threats, schools initiated evacuation protocols to safeguard everyone on the premises. Thorough searches were conducted by bomb disposal squads, but no explosive devices were found at any location by late morning. The emails were deemed hoaxes, yet they caused significant disruption and anxiety among students, parents, and school staff.

Details of the Threatening Emails

The threatening emails contained disturbing language, claiming that explosives had been “skillfully” hidden in black plastic bags within classrooms. The sender expressed a desire to cause harm and mentioned personal struggles with mental health and dissatisfaction with psychiatric treatments. This has led investigators to consider the possibility of a mentally disturbed individual being behind these threats.

Repeated Hoax Threats in Delhi

This incident marks the fourth time in a week that Delhi schools have received similar hoax threats. Earlier in the week, multiple schools and a college received emails claiming bombs had been placed on their premises. Each time, emergency services responded promptly, conducting thorough checks that revealed no credible threats.

12-Year-Old Detained for Previous Threat

In a related development, a 12-year-old student was detained for sending a bomb threat to St Thomas School in Dwarka earlier this week. The minor was identified through investigation and subsequently counseled before being released to family members.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Advisory

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if there is any connection between today’s threats and previous incidents involving the minor. Cyber units are analyzing email headers and IP addresses to trace the origin of the emails. Police have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors. Schools have been advised to stay vigilant and adhere to emergency protocols as investigations proceed.
