Brad Pitt Seeks Angelina Jolie’s Texts in Vineyard Legal Battle

The ongoing legal dispute between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their shared vineyard, Château Miraval, has taken a new turn as Pitt’s legal team intensifies efforts to obtain crucial evidence. The former couple, who purchased a controlling stake in the French estate in 2008, have been embroiled in a contentious battle since Jolie sold her interest to Tenute Del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group, in 2021. Pitt argues that this sale violated a contractual agreement between them.

### Legal Maneuvers Intensify In 2022, Pitt initiated legal proceedings against Jolie, challenging the sale of her stake. Recently, his legal team filed a motion to compel a deposition from Alexey Oliynik of the Stoli Group. This move aims to uncover communications between Oliynik and Jolie regarding the transaction. If successful, Pitt could gain access to Jolie’s private messages, which he believes are pivotal to his case.

### Challenges in Obtaining Testimony Oliynik has resisted participating in the deposition, citing his Swiss citizenship and related foreign laws as reasons for non-compliance. A source familiar with the case indicated that the Stoli-affiliated entity has been avoiding deposition with what they claim are baseless objections. Consequently, Pitt’s team has sought court intervention to secure an order compelling Oliynik’s testimony.

### Allegations and Counterclaims The dispute extends beyond the vineyard sale. Jolie’s company, Nouvel, has accused Pitt of orchestrating a “vindictive campaign” to undermine the business since their divorce proceedings began in 2016. Nouvel claims Pitt mismanaged Château Miraval by engaging in unnecessary renovations, including spending $1 million on a swimming pool project.

### Divorce Settlement Reached Amidst the vineyard litigation, Pitt and Jolie have reached a settlement agreement on their protracted divorce. The couple first met on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” in 2004 and married in 2014. Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, citing allegations of violence during a private jet flight. Although they were declared legally single in 2019, the divorce was not finalized until December 2024.

As both parties prepare for an eventual court showdown over Château Miraval, no trial date has been set. This legal battle represents just one facet of their complex post-divorce proceedings.
