CBSE sets strict deadlines for Class 10 and 12 LOC submissions

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released its third reminder regarding the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for students in Classes 10 and 12 who will appear in the examinations for the academic session 2025–26. Schools have been instructed to complete the process by September 30, 2025, to avoid additional charges. According to the notification, the payment option through challan has already expired, and institutions are advised to use alternative modes of payment for timely completion. The LOC portal will close at precisely 11:59:59 p.m. on September 30 and will reopen briefly from October 3 to October 11 for late submissions with applicable fees.

Deadline for Candidate List Submission

CBSE emphasized that schools must finalize and submit their candidate lists by September 30, marking it as the last date without incurring penalties. This step is crucial for ensuring that all eligible students are registered correctly for their upcoming board examinations. The board has reiterated that missing this deadline could lead to complications in student registration and additional financial burden on schools.

Late Fee Window Announced

For institutions unable to meet the initial deadline, CBSE has provided a late submission window between October 3 and October 11. During this period, schools can still upload their candidate data but will be required to pay late fees as per board regulations. The reopening of the portal is intended as a final opportunity for compliance before it closes permanently for this academic cycle.

Payment Guidelines Updated

The board clarified that payments through challan are no longer accepted since the deadline for that mode has already passed. Schools must therefore rely on other approved digital or banking methods to complete transactions related to LOC submissions. This measure ensures faster processing and minimizes delays in confirming student registrations.

Importance of Timely Compliance

Submitting the List of Candidates within the stipulated timeframe is a critical administrative responsibility for schools affiliated with CBSE. The process not only secures examination seats for students but also helps streamline logistical arrangements such as seating plans, admit card generation, and exam center allocation. Any delay may disrupt these preparations and create unnecessary challenges close to examination dates.

Board’s Repeated Reminders

This latest announcement marks the third reminder issued by CBSE regarding LOC submissions for Classes 10 and 12 in the upcoming academic year. By sending multiple notifications, the board aims to ensure that no school overlooks its obligations or risks jeopardizing students’ participation due to administrative lapses.

In summary, CBSE has reinforced its stance on strict adherence to deadlines concerning Class 10 and Class 12 candidate list submissions for the academic session 2025–26. Schools must complete their entries by September 30 without fail or utilize the extended window from October 3–11 with late fees applied. With challan payments no longer available, institutions are urged to use alternate payment methods promptly to avoid last-minute complications that could affect both students and administrators alike.
