CBSE introduces two annual Class 10 exams with sports-friendly schedule

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a significant change to its examination system, introducing two board exams annually for Class 10 students starting in 2026. This new framework is designed to provide greater flexibility, particularly for students who balance academics with sporting commitments.
Under the revised system, students will have the option to appear for board examinations twice a year. This marks a departure from the traditional single annual exam format that has been in place for decades. The move is aimed at reducing academic pressure and offering students an opportunity to improve their performance without waiting an entire year.
One of the key highlights of this reform is the accommodation provided to student-athletes. Many young learners face scheduling conflicts between national or international sporting events and their academic assessments.
