Chicago Sky Game Interrupted by Sex Toy Incident Amid Ongoing Arrests

Sex Toy Thrown During Chicago Sky Game

A Chicago Sky game was disrupted when a sex toy was thrown onto the court during the final seconds of the match against the Atlanta Dream. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, is part of a series of similar disruptions that have plagued WNBA games recently. Social media footage captured the moment a purple sex toy was launched onto the court as the Dream led the Sky 86-65. Earlier in the game, another sex toy was reportedly thrown but landed near the Dream bench instead of on the court.

Arrests and Security Measures

Following these incidents, security at Wintrust Arena detained and questioned a suspect, who was later released. The Chicago Tribune reported that this is just one of several similar events over the past week and a half. The first occurrence was during a game in Atlanta on July 29, with subsequent incidents in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Phoenix. An 18-year-old man was arrested in Phoenix for throwing a sex toy and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and publicly displaying explicit material. He claimed he did it as part of a social media trend.

League’s Response to Disruptions

The WNBA has responded strongly to these disruptions. A statement from the league emphasized that safety is a top priority and warned that any fan caught throwing objects onto the court would face immediate ejection, a minimum one-year ban, and potential legal action. The league’s firm stance aims to deter future incidents and ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans.

Ongoing Investigations

Investigations are ongoing in various cities where these incidents have occurred. In New York, authorities are looking into an alleged incident involving a sex toy at a Liberty game. Meanwhile, in Georgia, another man was arrested for his involvement in the initial Atlanta incident and charged with disorderly conduct and other offenses.
