Chimpanzees and bonobos are closest living relatives, sharing over 98% DNA. They belong to the genus Pan. Though similar, they show distinct behaviours and physical traits. Bonobos live south of the Congo River. Chimpanzees inhabit areas to the north. Bonobos are slender. Chimpanzees are robust. Bonobos eat more vegetation. Chimpanzees hunt more. Bonobo groups are egalitarian.
