This innovative approach allows members to enjoy the perks of private aviation without bearing the full financial burden.
Nick Molina, a seasoned investor from Key Biscayne, Florida, discovered this unique opportunity while conversing with a stranger at LaGuardia Airport’s American Express Centurion Lounge. Intrigued by the concept, Molina joined the group and found it beneficial. Similarly, Enrico Scarda, who previously owned a jet, appreciates the community aspect despite initial hesitations about flying with strangers. Over time, he realized that fellow members share similar backgrounds and interests.
While these groups offer convenience and savings, they also operate under strict regulations. Aviation attorney Steve Taber notes that plane operators must comply with Part 135 certification if they receive compensation beyond their share of costs. Violations can lead to civil penalties.
