The family of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, who was tragically murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, visited the site where the crime occurred to perform religious rituals. Raja’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, along with other family members, traveled to the parking lot at Wei Saidong falls in East Khasi Hills. This location was significant as it was where Raja and his wife Sonam had parked their rented scooter before heading to the site of the murder. The family chose to honor Raja by conducting rituals at the exact spot where his body was discovered on June 2.
In addition to performing rituals, Raja Raghuvanshi’s family is taking legal steps to seek justice. They plan to engage a lawyer in Shillong to challenge the bail granted to three accused individuals, including property dealer Silome James. James, along with flat owner Lokendra Tomar and security guard Balvir, faces charges of tampering with evidence related to the case. The family is determined to ensure that those responsible for Raja’s death are held accountable.
The family is also pushing for a deeper investigation into the motives behind the murder. They intend to file a petition demanding a narco test on Sonam, Raja’s wife, to uncover the true reasons behind her alleged involvement in her husband’s death shortly after their wedding. This move underscores their commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served.
Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi were married on May 11 and embarked on their honeymoon in Meghalaya nine days later. Their journey took a dark turn when they went missing after three days of travel in the northeast region. Concerned family members contacted the police, leading to an investigation that transformed into a murder case upon the discovery of Raja’s body in a gorge on June 2.
While Raja’s family pursues legal action, Sonam’s family is also considering their options. Her elder brother Govind is exploring legal avenues in Shillong and Guwahati, Assam, potentially filing a bail application for Sonam. However, this has not been confirmed by her family.
