Until now, drivers without an active FASTag were required to pay double the standard toll fee at plazas across the country. Under the revised guidelines, this penalty has been significantly lowered. Starting November 15, commuters without a valid FASTag will instead pay just 1.25 times the regular toll amount. Payments in such cases can be made through UPI, offering a more convenient and less punitive process for those who have not yet adopted the electronic system.
