In a significant revelation, FBI Director Kash Patel has uncovered thousands of sensitive documents related to the Trump-Russia investigation. These documents were found inside multiple “burn bags” in a previously undisclosed room at the FBI headquarters. The “burn bag” system is typically used for destroying classified documents, raising questions about the intent behind their storage. Sources familiar with the incident revealed that among the documents was a classified annex to former special counsel John Durham’s final report, which includes critical intelligence reviewed during the investigation.
The declassification of this annex is being meticulously coordinated by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and acting NSA Director William Hartman. Once declassified, the document will be transmitted to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley for public release. This move is expected to shed light on the U.S. intelligence community’s role in spreading the Trump-Russia collusion narrative before the controversial Crossfire Hurricane probe was launched.
The discovery of these documents has significant implications. Sources indicate that the intelligence within the annex predicted the FBI’s actions with “alarming specificity,” suggesting a coordinated effort within the U.S. government to link Trump to Russia. This revelation could lend credibility to claims that there was a deliberate plan to stir controversy during the 2016 election cycle.
Patel and his team are diligently reviewing the documents, some of which pertain to sensitive investigations, including Crossfire Hurricane. The latest discovery aligns with investigative requests from Grassley, who has been seeking information related to Durham’s probe into alleged government surveillance abuses. Patel has already turned over relevant documents to Grassley’s team for further review.
The Trump-Russia investigation, known as Crossfire Hurricane, began in July 2016 amid allegations of collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia. The infamous Steele dossier played a pivotal role in prompting this probe. However, subsequent investigations revealed that the dossier was funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and contained unverified allegations. Patel’s efforts have been instrumental in unraveling these narratives and exposing potential government malfeasance.
