The incident occurred on June 22, approximately 25 miles from Destin. As Hinote swam, she suddenly felt something brush against her, which quickly escalated into a life-threatening situation. The alligator bit her leg and dragged her underwater, shaking her violently.

Hinote’s Brave Response to the Attack

Despite the danger, Hinote demonstrated remarkable courage and presence of mind. She recounted to local FOX 35 how she fought back by punching the alligator in the head as hard as she could. Her efforts paid off when the alligator released her momentarily, only to grab her again and pull her underwater once more. During this harrowing ordeal, Hinote continued to fight back fiercely.

In a desperate bid for survival, Hinote managed to break free from the alligator’s grip with the help of a friend. As soon as the alligator let go for a second time, she seized the opportunity to run out of the water. Her quick thinking and determination were crucial in escaping further harm.
