India Executes Operation Sindhu, Evacuates 3,170 Nationals from Israel and Iran

In a significant humanitarian effort, India has successfully evacuated 3,170 of its citizens from the conflict-affected regions of Israel and Iran under the initiative named Operation Sindhu. This operation was launched in response to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, which posed a threat to the safety of Indian nationals residing in these areas. The evacuation process was meticulously planned and executed, involving multiple stages and coordination with international partners.

The operation saw the evacuation of over 1,100 Indians from both countries. Those stranded in Israel were transported through neighboring Jordan and Egypt, utilizing chartered flights from Amman to ensure their safe return to India. Meanwhile, special flights were arranged from Mashhad in Iran to facilitate the evacuation of Indian citizens from that region.

The swift action by the Indian government underscores its commitment to safeguarding its citizens abroad amidst international conflicts. The Ministry of External Affairs coordinated closely with Indian embassies in Israel and Iran to ensure the smooth execution of this operation. The successful completion of Operation Sindhu highlights India’s capability to respond effectively to international crises and protect its diaspora.

This evacuation effort not only reflects India’s diplomatic agility but also its robust logistical capabilities in crisis management. The operation required seamless coordination between various governmental agencies, airlines, and foreign governments to ensure the safety and timely return of Indian nationals. As tensions continue to simmer between Israel and Iran, India’s proactive measures serve as a testament to its dedication to citizen welfare and international cooperation.
