Incident Overview

A recent incident at Shree Bal Chikitsalaya, a pediatric hospital in Kalyan East near Mumbai, has taken a new turn with the emergence of fresh video footage. The initial viral video depicted a man, identified as Gokul Jha, violently assaulting a receptionist by kicking her, dragging her by the hair, and slamming her to the ground. This incident occurred on Monday evening and quickly gained widespread attention.

New Video Footage Emerges

The new video footage provides additional context to the altercation. It shows that the receptionist had slapped Jha’s sister-in-law before the violent attack occurred. The footage reveals an argument between Jha, who was accompanied by his sister-in-law, another woman, a man, and a child, and the receptionist. Jha is seen moving threateningly towards the receptionist but is initially asked to leave by his sister-in-law.

Sequence of Events

Despite being pushed back by another woman accompanying him, Jha re-enters the reception area. The receptionist then leaves her desk, throws papers on the floor, and approaches Jha’s sister-in-law, slapping her while gesturing towards Jha and others. This escalation leads to Jha kicking the receptionist and pushing her to the ground before being dragged away by his companions. The shocked receptionist receives assistance from other hospital staff.

Legal Actions and Reactions

Following the incident, the receptionist is receiving treatment for her injuries. Gokul Jha attempted to evade arrest by altering his appearance but was apprehended on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he was remanded to police custody for two days by the Kalyan District and Sessions Court.
