In a disturbing event from Bengaluru, Kannada television actor and anchor Manjula Shruthi was hospitalized after being stabbed by her husband, Amresh, over suspicions of infidelity. The attack took place on July 4 at Muneshwara Layout, under the jurisdiction of Hanumanthnagar police station. Despite the incident occurring earlier, it has only recently come to public attention.
Manjula Shruthi, known for her roles in popular serials like “Amruthadhaare,” married Amresh two decades ago following a love affair. The couple has two children and resided in a rented house in Hanumanthnagar. However, their relationship had become strained due to Amresh’s disapproval of Shruthi’s behavior. This tension led to Shruthi separating from Amresh three months ago and moving in with her brother.
The couple’s disputes extended to financial disagreements over house lease money, prompting Shruthi to file a police complaint at the Hanumanthnagar station. Despite these issues, they reconciled last Thursday. Unfortunately, this reconciliation was short-lived as the following day, Amresh allegedly attacked Shruthi when their children were away at college.
Amresh reportedly used pepper spray on Shruthi before stabbing her multiple times in the ribs, thigh, and neck. He also allegedly banged her head against the wall during the assault. Following the attack, Shruthi was admitted to Victoria Hospital for treatment.
The Hanumanthnagar police have registered a case of attempted murder against Amresh, who has been arrested. Two cases related to domestic disputes between Shruthi and Amresh have been filed at the Hanumanthnagar police station. The investigation into this violent incident is ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details.
