In a shocking incident in Nagpur, Maharashtra, a woman named Disha Ramteke, aged 30, and her lover, Asif Islam Ansari, allegedly conspired to murder her bedridden husband, Chandrasen Ramteke. The couple had been married for 13 years and were parents to two daughters and a six-year-old son. Two years prior, Chandrasen suffered a paralytic attack that left him confined to bed. To support the family, Disha took up selling water cans.
The marriage had been strained due to Chandrasen’s suspicions about Disha’s fidelity. Approximately two months ago, Disha met Asif, a mechanic also known as Rajababu Tyrewala. Their acquaintance quickly developed into a romantic relationship. When Chandrasen discovered the affair, it led to a heated argument between the couple.
On a Friday afternoon, while Chandrasen was asleep at home, Disha allegedly invited Asif over. Together, they executed their plan; Disha reportedly held her husband down while Asif suffocated him with a pillow until he died. Initially, they attempted to disguise the death as natural. However, the post-mortem examination revealed evidence of murder.
During police interrogation, Disha confessed to her involvement in the crime. This case has raised significant concerns about domestic violence and the extreme measures individuals may resort to when relationships deteriorate. The incident underscores the importance of addressing marital issues through communication and counseling rather than resorting to violence.
