In a shocking incident in Rajasthan, a man and a self-proclaimed ‘tantrik’ have been apprehended for the murder of a six-year-old boy. The crime, allegedly committed as part of an occult ritual, was intended to mend the man’s troubled marriage. The incident unfolded in Sarai Kalan village, Alwar district, where the young victim, Lokesh, was reported missing on July 19. Tragically, his body was discovered later that evening under straw in an abandoned building, with his throat slit and syringe marks indicating blood extraction for black magic purposes.
The investigation took a significant turn when Lokesh’s uncle, Manoj Kumar, was arrested two days after the discovery of the body. Discrepancies in his account led police to suspect his involvement. Under interrogation, Manoj confessed to the murder, revealing that he acted on the advice of Sunil Kumar, a ‘tantrik’ who promised to help reconcile Manoj’s estranged marriage.
Manoj’s wife had left him following a domestic dispute and was living with her family. In desperation, Manoj sought Sunil’s help. Sunil allegedly demanded Rs 12,000 and the liver and blood of a child as offerings for a ritual meant to subdue Manoj’s wife and ensure her return. Manoj agreed to this horrific plan.
On July 19, Manoj lured his nephew Lokesh away from home under the guise of buying him sweets. Instead, he took Lokesh to a deserted house where he strangled him and attempted to drain his blood using syringes. The body was hidden under straw and logs with the intention of extracting the liver later.
Lokesh’s disappearance prompted an immediate search by his father and community members. By 8 pm that day, Lokesh’s body was found in the abandoned structure. Initially, Manoj participated in the search efforts, even visiting the site where the body was discovered.
The case initially registered against unknown persons saw progress through CCTV footage that implicated Manoj. Upon further questioning, he revealed Sunil’s involvement. Sunil was subsequently arrested from his village as police investigate potential links to other occult-related crimes.
A used syringe found at the scene is believed to have been used by Manoj in his attempt to draw blood from Lokesh. Forensic teams have collected additional evidence from the site, which has been sealed as investigations continue.
