A 52-year-old man tragically lost his life after falling from the 18th floor of the Matoshree Sadan building in Wadala, central Mumbai. The incident occurred on Sunday, as reported by an official from the RAK Marg police station. The man, a resident of the high-rise, had been suffering from dysentery for several days, which may have contributed to the unfortunate accident.
The man had reportedly gone to the top floor of the building for some work. It is suspected by police that he experienced a sudden loss of bowel control due to his condition. In an attempt to relieve himself, he sat on the edge of a shaft near a lift. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell into a pit located on the ground floor.
Upon receiving an alert about the incident, police and fire brigade personnel promptly arrived at the scene. They worked together to retrieve the man from the pit. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital; however, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. The incident has raised concerns about safety measures in high-rise buildings and highlights the need for increased awareness regarding personal safety in such environments.
This unfortunate event has shocked residents of the Matoshree Sadan building and surrounding community. It serves as a somber reminder of the importance of safety precautions and awareness in everyday activities, especially in high-risk areas such as high-rise buildings.
