Authorities have identified the four victims of a tragic shooting at The Owl Bar in Anaconda, Montana. The incident occurred on Friday morning when 45-year-old Michael Brown, an Army veteran, allegedly opened fire, resulting in the deaths of 59-year-old Daniel Edwin Baillie, 64-year-old Nancy Lauretta Kelley, 70-year-old David Allen Leach, and 74-year-old Tony Wayne Palm. All victims were residents of Anaconda.
The suspect, Michael Brown, remains at large as law enforcement intensifies search efforts. The search is concentrated in the Stumptown area, west of Anaconda, where Brown was last seen. A photo released by authorities shows Brown barefoot and shirtless, wearing black shorts as he fled the scene. The state Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) reported that Brown’s white F-150 pickup truck was found abandoned, but the suspect was not located nearby.
The search for Brown has involved both air and ground resources and continued through the weekend. SWAT teams cleared Brown’s residence on Friday, but he remains elusive. Residents in the area have been advised to stay indoors and remain vigilant. Authorities have warned that Brown is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, residents are urged to contact 911 immediately rather than approach him.
Michael Brown served as an armor crewman in the Army from January 2001 to May 2005 and was deployed to Iraq from February 2004 to March 2005. He later served in the Montana National Guard from April 2006 to March 2009. Despite his military background, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
