Naidu Confirms AI Plane Crash Black Box Analyzed in India

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu has addressed recent media reports suggesting that the black box from the Air India crash in Ahmedabad was sent abroad for analysis. Contrary to these claims, Minister Naidu clarified that the black box is currently being examined by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) within India. This statement aims to dispel any misinformation and assure the public of the ongoing domestic investigation. The incident involved a London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which tragically crashed on June 12, resulting in the loss of 241 lives. In response to this devastating event, the government has established a dedicated panel tasked with investigating the cause of the crash. The AAIB’s role is crucial as it is responsible for conducting a thorough examination of the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder, collectively known as the black box. These devices are essential for understanding the sequence of events leading up to the crash and identifying any technical or human errors that may have contributed to the tragedy. The decision to keep the analysis within India underscores the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in aviation safety investigations. By retaining control over the examination process, Indian authorities aim to expedite findings and implement necessary safety measures to prevent future incidents. This approach also reflects India’s growing capabilities in handling complex aviation investigations independently. As the investigation progresses, further updates are expected from both the AAIB and the government panel, providing insights into potential safety improvements and policy changes needed to enhance air travel safety standards.
