Nail artist Rajshree More has recounted a distressing incident involving Rahil Sheikh, the son of a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader, who allegedly rammed his SUV into her car in Andheri, Mumbai. According to Ms. More, the incident began when she was returning home from Goregaon and was targeted by Sheikh, who was reportedly intoxicated and half-naked. Despite his state, he boasted about his influential father, MNS Maharashtra Vice President Javed Sheikh.

Ms. More shared her fear and anxiety following the encounter, stating that she feels targeted and is apprehensive about leaving her home. She appealed to MNS chief Raj Thackeray to ensure that non-Marathi individuals are not targeted by party members, emphasizing Mumbai’s diverse culture as a key to its success. The incident escalated when Ms. More sought help from nearby police officers after her car was repeatedly rammed. Despite police intervention, Sheikh refused to cooperate and continued his aggressive behavior.

The situation further deteriorated at the police station, where Sheikh allegedly abused officers and made derogatory remarks, claiming his father could influence the outcome. Ms. More recorded parts of the incident on her phone, capturing Sheikh’s threats and abusive language.

This encounter follows a previous altercation with MNS workers after Ms. More posted a video supporting people from other states amidst tensions over language imposition. The video led to backlash from MNS members, prompting her to delete it under threat of harm to her business.

In a heartfelt message to Raj Thackeray, Ms. More expressed her belief in Mumbai’s inclusive nature and urged against targeting migrants. She highlighted the struggles faced by Marathi women and called for support rather than division based on language or origin. Despite deleting her video under duress, Ms. More stands by her statements and seeks protection from further harassment.
