NASCAR’s Connor Zilisch Suffers Collarbone Injury in Victory Lane Fall

Connor Zilisch’s Victory Celebration Turns Painful

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Connor Zilisch experienced a dramatic turn of events during his celebration at Watkins Glen International in New York. After securing his sixth victory of the 2025 season, Zilisch climbed onto the roof of his No. 88 car to celebrate. Unfortunately, his left foot became entangled in the driver’s side window netting, causing him to slip and fall onto the asphalt, resulting in a broken collarbone.

Social Media Update and Recovery

Following the incident, Zilisch took to social media to update his fans about his condition. He expressed gratitude for the quick response from medical personnel and reassured everyone that he was on the mend after being discharged from the hospital. “Thank you everybody for reaching out today,” he posted. “I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse.”

Impact on Upcoming Races

Zilisch was scheduled to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen on Sunday. However, due to his injury, Trackhouse Racing decided to withdraw the No. 87 car he was set to drive. His next appearance in the Xfinity Series is planned for August 22 at Daytona International Speedway.

A Season of Highs and Lows

This isn’t the first setback for Zilisch this season. Earlier, he missed a race at Texas Motor Speedway following a back injury sustained during a crash at Talladega Superspeedway. Despite these challenges, Zilisch has demonstrated remarkable resilience, achieving 11 consecutive top-five finishes and securing five wins since his return. He has won four out of the last five races and currently leads Justin Allgaier by seven points in the drivers’ standings.
