In a disturbing incident from Navi Mumbai, a 21-year-old man named Aminur Ali Ahmed has been arrested for the murder of Abubakar Suhadli Mandal. The victim, aged 35, was married to Fatima Mandal, a 25-year-old resident of Vashi. Aminur, reportedly infatuated with Fatima, had persistently asked her to marry him despite her being married. This obsession tragically culminated in the murder of her husband.
The crime came to light when Abubakar did not return home from work on Monday. Concerned for his safety, Fatima filed a missing persons’ report with the local police. During the investigation, she informed authorities about Aminur’s relentless proposals and pressure to marry him. This crucial information led the police to suspect Aminur’s involvement in Abubakar’s disappearance.
Following an intensive search, police discovered Abubakar’s body stuffed in a sack and dumped in the Vashi Creek on Wednesday morning. Further investigations revealed that Aminur attempted to destroy evidence by discarding the victim’s clothes and belongings in a drain near Vashi village underpass on Panvel-Sion Road. Aminur has been apprehended and charged with murder among other offenses.
Authorities are currently pursuing leads on an accomplice believed to have assisted Aminur in executing this heinous crime. The police are actively working to gather more evidence and bring all involved parties to justice. This case highlights the severe consequences of unrequited love turning into deadly obsession.
