Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found deceased in her Karachi apartment, nine months after her death, as revealed by a postmortem report. Her body was discovered by police and a court-appointed bailiff executing an eviction order due to unpaid rent. The report, covered by Geo News, highlights the advanced state of decomposition, with her organs reduced to an unidentifiable mass.
Forensic experts described the condition of Humaira’s body as severely decomposed. Major organs had turned into a black-colored mass, and her facial features were unrecognizable. The report noted that muscle tissue was absent, bones disintegrated upon touch, and the brain matter had decomposed through autolysis. Despite the decomposition, no fractures were detected in the bones.
Investigators observed insects in the remains, which may provide insights into the environmental conditions during her undisturbed period. Brown-colored insects were found in her hair, but no maggots were present. The head and spine remained intact, although the spinal cord was missing due to decomposition.
The exact cause of Humaira’s death remains unknown due to the body’s condition. DNA profiling and toxicology tests are underway to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her demise.
The discovery followed a landlord’s complaint about unpaid rent. Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed confirmed that Humaira likely died several months ago. Her last known call was made in October 2024, and electricity was cut off around the same time due to non-payment.
Initially, Humaira’s family refused to claim her body, but her brother Naveed Asghar later took custody after fulfilling legal requirements. He expressed concerns about the investigation process and questioned interactions with the landlord.
Humaira began her entertainment career in 2015, appearing in TV shows like Just Married and films such as Jalaibee. She gained recognition on the reality show Tamasha Ghar in 2022 and received an award for Best Emerging Talent in 2023.
