A 54-year-old paranormal investigator, Dan Rivera, tragically passed away while on tour with the infamous Annabelle doll. Rivera, a US Army veteran, was participating in the “Devils on the Run Tour,” which had recently concluded a successful three-day event in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The tour was organized by “Ghostly Images of Gettysburg Tours” and hosted at the Soldiers National Orphanage. The New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) confirmed his unexpected death.
On Sunday evening, emergency services were called to Rivera’s hotel in Gettysburg following reports of CPR being administered. Unfortunately, by the time medical personnel arrived, Rivera had already passed away. The exact cause of death remains undetermined, but authorities have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain further details.
Dan Rivera was a well-known figure in the paranormal community, having appeared on the Travel Channel’s “Most Haunted Places” and produced several shows, including Netflix’s “28 Days Haunted.” His tour involved traveling across the United States with NESPR members to showcase the allegedly haunted Annabelle doll. The doll has a notorious history of supposed hauntings dating back to the 1970s when it was first linked to a series of eerie events.
The Annabelle doll gained notoriety after being given to a Connecticut nursing student named Donna. Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren claimed that the doll exhibited frightening behaviors, such as moving on its own and causing harm to individuals. The Warrens eventually moved the doll to their museum in Connecticut, believing it to be demonically possessed. The chilling story of Annabelle inspired the popular horror film ‘The Conjuring.’
Earlier this year, Annabelle made news when conspiracy theories falsely linked it to a prison breakout and fire in Louisiana. Experts later debunked these claims, clarifying that the doll was never “out of control.”
