Rajnath Singh Condemns Pakistan’s Terror Support at SCO Summit

During the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ meeting held in Qingdao, China, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a strong rebuke to Pakistan, accusing it of harboring and supporting terrorist activities across borders. Singh’s remarks were made in the presence of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, underscoring the gravity of the issue at an international forum. He emphasized that the region’s stability is severely threatened by radicalization, extremism, and terrorism, which are often fueled by state-sponsored activities. Singh called for a unified and decisive response from SCO member countries to combat these threats effectively. He argued that any form of double standards in addressing terrorism should be unequivocally rejected, as they undermine collective security efforts. The meeting highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by the region due to terrorism and the necessity for collaborative action to ensure peace and security. Singh’s statements reflect India’s firm stance on counter-terrorism and its commitment to working with international partners to eliminate such threats. The presence of Khawaja Asif at the summit added a layer of diplomatic tension, as Singh’s comments directly addressed issues that have long strained India-Pakistan relations. The SCO platform provided an opportunity for member states to discuss strategies for enhancing regional security and stability, with a focus on counter-terrorism measures. Singh’s address served as a reminder of the urgent need for cooperation among nations to tackle the pervasive threat of terrorism that transcends borders and affects global peace.
