Diljit Dosanjh’s latest film, “Sardaar Ji 3,” has achieved remarkable success in the international market, despite not being released in India. This strategic release decision came after the film faced controversy over casting Pakistani actress Hania Amir following the Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025.
“Sardaar Ji 3” has been performing exceptionally well in international territories, particularly in Pakistan and Canada. According to a report by KoiMoi, the film has grossed Rs 55 crore at the box office after its third weekend. This impressive figure highlights the film’s popularity and strong audience reception abroad.
Team Diljit Dosanjh recently shared an Instagram post celebrating the film’s global success. The post revealed that “Sardaar Ji 3” had already earned Rs 52 crore within just two weeks of its release. This social media engagement has further fueled interest and excitement among fans worldwide.
In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit Dosanjh addressed the controversy surrounding the film. He explained that when “Sardaar Ji 3” was made, there were no issues, and the situation changed unexpectedly. He expressed support for the producers’ decision to release the film overseas, acknowledging the financial implications of excluding the Indian market.
Director Kabir Khan, known for his film “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” which explored India-Pakistan relations, voiced his support for Diljit Dosanjh. Khan emphasized that it was unfair to target Diljit amidst the controversy. His backing highlights solidarity within the industry during challenging times.
