A routine security check at Delhi’s Press Enclave Society escalated into a dramatic incident when vigilant security guards identified a suspected thief. The event unfolded around 3:27 pm when a man on a motorcycle was stopped at the society’s entry gate for standard verification. Security guard Pravakar Tamang, who has served the society for three years, recognized the man from CCTV footage linked to previous inverter thefts in the area.

Pravakar’s suspicions were aroused when the man provided an address that did not exist within the society and claimed to have visited it recently. This inconsistency prompted Pravakar to alert his colleague, Pratik Tamang, who was stationed nearby. Together, they attempted to detain the suspect.

Video footage from the society’s security cameras captured the tense moments as Pravakar and Pratik confronted the man. As they tried to stop him, a vehicle approached the gate, necessitating the temporary opening of the barricade. Seizing this opportunity, the suspect attempted to flee. Despite their swift actions, the guards were unable to prevent his escape. The suspect abandoned both his motorcycle and an inverter he was carrying before fleeing on foot.

Pravakar and Pratik Tamang, both hailing from Darjeeling (Mirik), West Bengal, are employed by IPRA Security Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Their quick thinking and alertness have been lauded by society residents, who appreciate their dedication to maintaining safety.

The local police have been notified of the incident and are conducting an investigation to apprehend the suspect. The community remains on high alert as authorities work to ensure security in the area.
