Sunjay Kapur’s Death Ruled Natural Amid Family Dispute

Sunjay Kapur’s Cause of Death Confirmed

Businessman Sunjay Kapur, who passed away last month while playing polo in London, has been confirmed to have died of natural causes. This conclusion was reached by British medical authorities and communicated to his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, through a letter on Sunday. The Surrey Coroner’s office identified left ventricular hypertrophy and ischemic heart disease as the causes of death. Left ventricular hypertrophy is a condition where the heart’s left ventricle wall thickens, making it difficult for blood to be pumped efficiently. Ischemic heart disease, also known as coronary artery disease, occurs when the heart muscle receives insufficient blood and oxygen due to narrowed arteries, often caused by atherosclerosis.

Coroner’s Investigation Concludes

The coroner’s office stated that the investigation into Sunjay Kapur’s death has been discontinued under Section 4 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, indicating no need for an inquest. Sources close to Priya Kapur assert that this report disproves any allegations of foul play. The report was shared with Rani Kapur, Sunjay’s mother, who had previously claimed her son was murdered as part of a transnational conspiracy.

Family Dispute Over Business Control

The confirmation of natural causes comes amid a public family dispute over control of the Rs 30,000 crore Sona Group. Rani Kapur had written to Surrey Police with claims of forgery, dubious asset transfers, and legal filings suggesting foul play in her son’s death. She alleged that his death might have been orchestrated as part of a conspiracy involving individuals in the UK, India, and possibly the US.

Company Denies Rani Kapur’s Claims

In response to Rani Kapur’s allegations, Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd issued a market filing stating she is not a shareholder and has not been one since 2019. The company clarified that Sunjay Kapur was the sole beneficial owner since May 2019. Furthermore, they refuted her claims of being coerced into signing documents after her son’s death.

Legal Actions and Public Statements

Sona Comstar has sent Rani Kapur a cease-and-desist letter for defaming the company with her allegations. Priya Sachdev Kapur has not publicly commented on these developments. Meanwhile, Rani Kapur continues to seek closure regarding her son’s death.
