Tauseef Badshah: The Chilling Tale of a Hospital Murder in Bihar

A Brazen Attack in Patna’s Paras Hospital

In a shocking incident of targeted violence, CCTV footage from Patna’s upscale Paras Hospital captured a chilling scene. Five men entered the hospital corridor with a calm demeanor, led by Tauseef Badshah, who walked with an untucked shirt and a gun in hand. His slow, deliberate gait and unreadable expression set the stage for a murder that unfolded moments later. Chandan Mishra, a notorious gangster with 24 criminal cases, including multiple murders, was shot dead in the ICU where he was receiving medical treatment under police guard.

The Unfolding of Events

The attack occurred on Thursday morning when the group of assailants entered the hospital unchallenged. They made their way to the ICU, opened fire, and disappeared into the ensuing chaos. By 7:30 am, reports of the incident began to surface, and by 8:00 am, CCTV footage was widely shared on social media. The police quickly identified all five attackers from the footage.

Tauseef Badshah’s Role and Background

Tauseef Badshah was prominently featured in the footage, leading the group with a pistol in hand. Unlike his accomplices who fled after the shooting, Tauseef maintained his composure and exited with a confident stride. His background reveals ties to Patna’s Phulwari Sharif, with his father running a hardware business and his mother working as a teacher. Tauseef attended Saint Karen’s School and had a criminal record, including charges under the Arms Act. Recently, he became involved in contract killings.

Rivalry and Motive Behind the Murder

The murder is believed to be rooted in an old rivalry between Chandan Mishra and another gangster named Sheru. Once allies, their relationship soured while they were incarcerated in Bhagalpur jail. Chandan eventually broke away but continued to operate under the “Sheru Gang” label.

Political Repercussions and Law Enforcement Response

The audacious murder inside a reputed hospital has sparked political outrage. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized the government for failing to ensure safety in Bihar. Independent MP Pappu Yadav claimed he received threats related to the case and called for President’s rule due to the deteriorating law and order situation. Meanwhile, Bihar Police have detained six suspects from Patna and Buxar as they intensify searches at locations linked to the Sheru gang.
