In a shocking incident in Arunachal Pradesh, a teenager was forcibly removed from police custody and lynched by an enraged mob. The teenager, a migrant from Assam, was accused of sexually assaulting several minor girls in the Roing town of Lower Dibang Valley. This tragic event unfolded after parents discovered the alleged assaults when their daughters reported abdominal pain and other health issues, prompting them to seek medical attention.
The accused reportedly exploited lax security measures to gain access to a school hostel, where he allegedly assaulted girls aged between six and eight years. The situation came to light when one of the victims’ parents filed a complaint, leading to the teenager’s arrest on Thursday. However, the news of his alleged crimes quickly spread throughout the community.
On Friday, a large crowd gathered at the Roing police station, where the accused was being held. Witnesses described how the mob, fueled by anger and seeking justice for the victims, overwhelmed the police personnel on duty. They forcibly entered the station, dragged the teenager out, and subjected him to severe physical assault.
Despite efforts by additional police and paramilitary forces to control the situation, they arrived too late to prevent the tragic outcome. The teenager succumbed to his injuries before law enforcement could restore order. This incident has raised serious concerns about security measures at public institutions and the challenges faced by authorities in maintaining law and order in such volatile situations.
The lynching has sparked widespread debate about vigilante justice and the need for improved security protocols in educational institutions. It also highlights the urgent need for community awareness and preventive measures to protect vulnerable children from such heinous acts. The incident underscores the importance of swift legal action and community support systems to address allegations of sexual assault effectively.
