The investigation into the tragic murder of 25-year-old tennis player Radhika Yadav by her father, Deepak Yadav, has uncovered significant details about his financial status. Deepak, who is currently in custody after confessing to the crime, reportedly owns multiple properties in Gurugram and earns between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 17 lakh monthly from rental income. His assets include a luxury farmhouse, highlighting his affluent lifestyle.
Radhika was fatally shot at her home in the upscale Sushant Lok area of Gurugram. The incident occurred around 10:30 am on a Thursday morning while she was preparing breakfast. Deepak fired five rounds from a licensed .32 bore revolver, with three bullets striking Radhika in the back. The firearm’s possession suggests Deepak’s influential connections and financial capability.
The murder followed months of escalating tensions within the family. Allegedly, disputes arose over Radhika’s financial independence and her involvement in social media and music videos, which reportedly displeased Deepak. He claimed that villagers taunted him for relying on his daughter’s earnings, urging her to close her tennis academy. However, an acquaintance refuted these claims, emphasizing Deepak’s wealth and dedication to his daughter’s tennis career.
Radhika operated her own tennis training institute in Gurugram’s Sector 57, which became a point of contention as her independence grew. Despite familial support, including expensive tennis equipment purchased by Deepak, underlying resentments simmered. Radhika lived with her parents in a two-storey house, while her uncle resided on the ground floor. After hearing gunshots, her uncle Kuldeep Yadav found Radhika injured in the kitchen and rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
The community remains shocked by the incident, with many questioning the motives behind such a drastic act. As investigations continue, authorities are piecing together the events leading up to the murder to understand the full scope of family dynamics and financial pressures involved.
