Texas Man Arrested for Damaging ICE Vehicle and Pursuing Agents

A man was apprehended in Texas following an incident where he allegedly damaged an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vehicle and pursued its agents. The office of Harris County Constable Mark Herman reported that the event took place near a shopping plaza in Humble, a suburb of Houston, on Wednesday. According to a Facebook post by the constable’s office, ICE agents reported being aggressively pursued by an unidentified suspect. Deputies responded promptly and identified the suspect as Sergio Olivares.

Investigations revealed that Olivares confronted the federal agents, causing damage to a side mirror of their vehicle before chasing them recklessly down the road. This pursuit endangered other motorists in the vicinity. The constables assisted ICE in managing the situation, leading to Olivares’s arrest without further incident. Despite requests for comments from Fox News Digital, ICE and the Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond.

Olivares faces charges of criminal mischief and is currently held at Harris County Jail with a bond set at $500. This incident occurred shortly after the Justice Department announced charges against 10 individuals involved in a violent attack on the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4th. During this attack, a police officer was shot in the neck but has since been discharged from the hospital and is expected to recover fully.

Additionally, another ambush targeted Border Patrol agents in McAllen, Texas, earlier this week. These incidents highlight ongoing tensions and risks faced by law enforcement agencies operating near detention facilities. The recent surge in attacks underscores the challenges ICE agents and local law enforcement face while performing their duties.
