Retired NFL legend Tom Brady made a triumphant return to Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Friday for a momentous occasion. The New England Patriots unveiled a 12-foot bronze statue in his likeness, celebrating his illustrious two-decade career with the team. The statue, which captures Brady’s iconic celebratory pose with a raised fist, now stands proudly near the entrance of the Patriots Hall of Fame at Patriot Place, just beyond the gates of Gillette Stadium.
This statue marks a historic first for the Patriots franchise, as Brady becomes the inaugural player to be honored in such a manner. The sculpture was commissioned by longtime team owner Robert Kraft, who expressed deep admiration for Brady during the ceremony. “Tommy, you have not only etched your name in NFL history. You’ve etched it in all our hearts,” Kraft remarked, emphasizing the lasting impact of Brady’s career on both the team and its fans.
During his speech, Brady humbly acknowledged the contributions of his teammates, many of whom were present to celebrate this special day. “Look, I know what this statue represents. It’s not about one guy. It never is, it never has been,” he stated, highlighting the importance of teamwork and collective commitment to greatness.
In true Brady fashion, he couldn’t resist taking a playful jab at one of the Patriots’ longtime rivals, the New York Jets. “In the end, this statue isn’t just for Pats fans,” he quipped. “It will also give all the Jets fans something to throw their beers at as they leave the stadium every year.”
Brady’s remarkable career includes six Super Bowl victories with the Patriots and one more with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He returned to New England in June 2024 for his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame. This statue serves as a lasting tribute to his unparalleled achievements and enduring legacy.
