A chilling video has surfaced on social media, depicting the brutal murder of a young couple from Balochistan, Pakistan. The couple, identified as Bano Bibi and Ahsan Ullah, allegedly married against their families’ wishes, leading to what is being described as an “honor” killing. The footage shows a group arriving in SUVs and pickup trucks at a remote location near Quetta, the provincial capital. The couple is forcibly removed from the vehicles, setting the stage for the tragic events that follow.

Woman’s Heartbreaking Plea

In the video, Bano Bibi, her head covered with a shawl, is handed a copy of the Qur’an. She walks towards a deserted hill, clutching the religious text, while a crowd watches. Speaking in Brahavi, she makes a poignant request to a man: “Walk seven steps with me, after that you can shoot me.” Her words are hauntingly clear as she adds, “You are allowed only to shoot me. Nothing more than that.” The man follows her briefly before firing multiple shots at her back. After the third shot, she collapses to the ground.

Outrage and Calls for Justice

The video continues with more gunshots heard in the background. A bloodied Ahsan Ullah is seen lying near Bano’s body as onlookers cheer. This heinous act reportedly occurred three days before Eid al-Adha in May 2025. The video’s circulation has sparked widespread outrage both within Pakistan and internationally. Activists are demanding swift justice and stronger laws to protect women who challenge traditional norms.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Local authorities have launched an investigation into this “honor” killing case. Police have arrested 13 suspects, including tribal elder Sardar Satakzai and Bano’s brother. According to reports, Satakzai ordered the killing after Bano’s brother complained about her marriage without his consent.

Prevalence of Honor Killings in Pakistan

Data from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) reveals that at least 405 “honor” killings were reported in 2024.
